As of February 2014, through individual funding donations and Board of Directors’ contributions, House of God’s Love has built 19 homes. Eighteen are for individual families and are self-sustaining in operation. These houses were built for the poor who found themselves in a dire family situation, such as the catastrophic death of the only caregiver or provider, or cases where the family had lost both parents and young children were left raising younger children without the presence or support of an adult or grandparent.
One home, Mai Am Thien An VII, is an orphanage, dedicated to housing Quang Nam area children who are disabled to the extent that, financially and practically, even the most dedicated families are unable to care for them.
The adults who live at the orphanage and look after the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of these children are themselves without any other place to call home. Mostly widows or women without means to house themselves, Mai Am Thien An VII is not only their home, but it also provides them a meaningful purpose as they love and care for the children there. Some of the caregivers were once older teens in the orphanage and are now ‘giving back’ in a way they are truly suited to do.
The beauty of the cycle of care and God’s love is present everywhere in Mai Am Thien An VII. Support for this special home comes solely from the kindness in hearts of strangers. Please consider reaching out in this way by donating today.
